About this device
The first full image of the Magic Leap 2 was revealed at 2PM ET during an interview on CNBC. The device was jointly announced alongside a $500 million investment round for the company, with a valuation of $2 billion.
The device has been described by Magic Leap as "half the size, about 20% lighter" than the original Magic Leap 1. It should be noted, however, that that the Magic Leap 2 requires use of an external compute unit, sold alongside the device.
The device is also described to have a "first-to-market" "segmented dimming" feature, allowing it to be used in brightly lit environments.
The Magic Leap 2 is further described as having improved color, text, and image quality.
