Overview

About this device

Varjo Aero is the first VR headset by Varjo intended for use by consumers as well as enterprise customers. Priced at $1999, it is one of the most expensive VR headsets released for the consumer market, as of 2021. Previous Varjo devices required an annual software subscription to be made in order to be used, and were sold exclusively to businesses. The Aero, in an effort to become consumer-accessible, is being sold without this annual software subscription requirement. The Varjo Aero is also the first consumer VR headset to use automatic hardware IPD adjustment. The device is equipped with eye-tracking cameras and a pair of adjustment motors to automatically detect and correct for the user's IPD. Varjo Aero was initially priced at two thousand dollars, with its retail price being halved in September 2023 to just under a thousand dollars per unit.
