High On Life VR Announced For PC VR, PlayStation VR2 & Meta Quest

Right then, this is a proper surprise. Flat2VR Studios, the team behind some cracking flat-to-VR conversions, has just announced they're bringing High On Life to VR. And we're not talking about a half-arsed port either – it's coming to PC VR, PlayStation VR2, and the Meta Quest 3 family. That's basically every headset that matters, which is exactly what you want to hear.

For those who missed it on flat screens, High On Life is Squanch Games' comedy FPS where your guns are sentient alien beings that won't shut up. Think Borderlands meets Rick and Morty, because it's literally made by Justin Roiland's studio. The game's already got a cult following for its bizarre humour and genuinely fun gunplay, so the prospect of experiencing all that madness in VR is pretty bloody exciting.

What We Know So Far

Details are still a bit thin on the ground, but Flat2VR Studios has a solid track record with conversions. They're the ones who've been doing the legwork on proper VR adaptations rather than quick cash-grabs, which gives me some confidence this won't be a disaster. The announcement confirms it's heading to all the major platforms, which mirrors what we've seen with recent announcements like System Shock VR – developers are finally realising that VR gamers exist across multiple ecosystems and actually want to play these games.

Why This Matters

Here's the thing – VR desperately needs more big-name titles making the jump from flatscreen. High On Life sold over three million copies in its first year, so this isn't some obscure indie getting a VR port. It's a proper AA game with name recognition, and that's the sort of stuff that brings new people into VR.
